Music I make

"Dad played jazz when he drank, it's no accident."

This page is for showing off what I have made and also explaining some of my creative decisions and influences when I feel like doing so.

Computer Graphix

Computer Graphix is the name of my main project, and right now my only one. There are some works of mine predating it that aren't very good and were only really shared privately, but the majority of my work going forward will be released under the name.

Self-titled

cover

My debut is.. alright. It could be much better and my next releases WILL be much better. The synthesizer work is poor and heavily preset-reliant, the sound design is inconsistent, and it generally just lacks direction and in a lot of ways its just not that good. It had a few good ideas but they were executed rather poorly. However it is definitely a noticeable step up from my previous efforts, which is the important part. The cover features a diagram of a cattle stunner (also called a Captive Bolt Pistol), which is a device meant to instantly incapacitate cows by puncturing their skull. Its pretty edgy but I was always kind of fascinated by them after learning about them. This is also why track 2 is named "Stunner / Painless".

Track A3

This track is interesting. The way I made it was by fucking with a synthesizer repeating one singular note over and over, and just changing shit and building this weird, noisy sound over the course of a few minutes, and recording the whole process in Edison.

Sterilize

Probably my favorite track on the album. Most of my power noise works have one main influence, with that being Alberich's Limit Mitigate Counteract Transmute, and this track is no different. I am very fond of the sound design on this track. I have noticed that when you distort the shit out of everything you are working with sounds kind of just start to modify eachother when overlapped more than they actually sound like they are being played on top of each other, if that makes sense. This is why the kick slowly sounds more and more fucked up and weird and then goes back to normal again throughout the track. Its a suuper fucked up and distorted synth that constantly changes in pitch being played underneath it with it's volume increasing steadily and then falling instantly over and over.

Shoot EP

cover

A small EP I made in between working on a larger project that I have yet to finish. It's also my first release under Terroristic Threat. A small digital hardcore/breakcore/power noise net label. It's a pretty standard power noise album I think. Almost everything is bathed in crazy amounts of distortion except on the last track. The cover is a 1971 performance art piece by Chris Burden where he asked to be shot.

Power Noise Movement 26

This is my favorite track on the album. It's name is a reference to "United (Power Noise Movement)" by Noisex, which I believe is where the term power noise actually comes from. The part a bit in where everything kind of starts to get SUPER distorted and fucked up sounding is because of a synth playing one note over and over again with the bass boosted really really high. I think its probably my favorite thing I have made so far. That part really feels like the song is just collapsing in on itself to me, I'm very fond of it. Samples In The Dark (2000) during the intro.

Bystander Effect

This track is a bit strange. It's fairly different from everything else on the EP. I mostly built it around that weird ominous bass guitar sample it opens with. I had been wanting to use the sample for a while and decided why not do that on this EP. I kinda just fucked around for the rest till I found something I liked. I feel it cuts off a bit too soon but I didn't really know what to add to it to be quite honest.
